MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY, MAY 17 , 1994 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Members Present: Peter Dinizio, Joe Polito, Bill Martiros , Bill Jones , <br /> Michael Pare , Steve Greelish , Merry Sue Ahlgren , Janice Mills, Joan Tavares <br /> Also Present: Ray Bordwell , Perkins and Will , Robert Fournier, SMMA, Dr. <br /> Lincoln DeMoura, Gus Fredricks , j:av C�. �olcc�� <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 13 p . m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Changes : add Paul Griffin as present. Pg. 7 - 700 seats , not sets. <br /> ** Merry Sue made a motion to approve the minutes of May 10 , as <br /> amended . Bill Jones seconded the motion . All members were in <br /> favor. ** <br /> PROJECT MANAGER REPORT <br /> Contracts - Paul Griffin , Ed Frennette and Bob Fournier met to resolve the <br /> contract language. They agreed to include a target area of 183 , 000 sq feet, <br /> $110 per sq foot and a budget construction cost of $20 , 130 , 000 , not to be <br /> exceeded . The Committee will hold a contingency of 5% for value added <br /> proposals. <br /> Ian received a draft copy of this language from Bob Fournier, he will pass <br /> it on to Paul Griffin and it is then up to the Building Committee to make a <br /> recommendation to the Selectmen to sign it. <br /> Chartwell has not received a draft contract or a letter of intent. Ian <br /> will talk to Bob Whritenour about it. <br /> Peter received a draft contract which he passed on to Ian . <br /> Program- Bob and Ray will present the revised program today with the <br /> deletion of the large group classroom. That will bring the total sq footage <br /> slightly below 183 , 000 sq feet. <br /> - Mr. Fournier will also present the net to gross factor with and without <br /> the mechanical and electrical equipment space. <br /> - Joan Tavares will provide information on the location of the Indian <br /> Education space. Joan said she would be late , the Committee will get back <br /> to this. <br /> - Ed Frennette spoke with Gus Fredricks about Leisure Services space . Ed <br /> is concerned about the 2 fractions- one wanting large and the other small <br /> amount of space. This needs to be resolved . Selectmen Nancy Caffyn wrote <br /> a letter to the Board of Selectmen on this issue . They did not meet last <br /> night, so the issue is still outstanding . <br /> Peter was told , 200 sq feet would be acceptable if their main office is not <br /> in the high school . They will need 3 , 200 sq feet offices if it is in the <br /> high school . <br /> The Committee has to wait for direction from the Selectmen on this issue. <br /> The Committee asked the architects to investigate how much , if any , <br /> community space will be reimbursable from the State. Can we build beyond <br /> the 183 , 000 sq feet and be reimbursed? <br /> Site Development - Ray will present options for the Committee to review and <br /> 1 <br />
