rhe site survey is underway and will be complete in 2 weeks. Ian talked to
Bob Whritenour about getting permission from the land owners to go on their
property . Mr. Whritenour would like the Committee to handle it themselves
next time.
This morning , the architects and Ian walked the site and have developed
some proposed site layouts to discuss with the Committee.
Schedule - Bob has asked for comments on the schedule submitted last week .
Ian will meet with Bob to review it and update it. It is a working
document and should be continually updated.
Bob Fournier met briefly with the Building Inspector today and they have
set up a meeting for next Tuesday to review the code evaluation .
Peter asked Tom Fudala if there are any environmental groups they should
contact?
Tom said they should contact WEBNER , natural heritage program of the State
Fisheries and Wildlife Dept. Tom will give them the organizations and
names of people they should contact.
Thursday's meeting - Ed explained they hope to reach consensus on the work
the staff has produced during these 3 days . Mark added they would like to
be sure we have an understanding of the relationship of the building and
the site and the relationship of the performing arts center , and
orientation that everyone is comfortable with . There will also be some
proposed arrangements and appearances for the building .
** The Committee will meet on Thursday May 26th at 4 : 00 p . m.
Budget - Bob said they have a meeting with their cost consultant and the
full design team on June 1 .
Cash Flow Projections - Ian recently received the figures he needed from
the Architects and met with Bob Whritenour today . They project the town
will have to borrow $500 , 000 every 3 months . Mr . Whritenour will take care
of the land , appraisal and legal expenses.
Subconsultants - Chartwell has received proposals from all their
subconsultants . Ian will give them to Bob Whritenour and he will set up a
meeting with the subcommittee to get approval . The architectural review
consultants should be on board immediately.
Their proposal from Weston and Sampson came it at $10 , 300 while Dames and
Moore was $5 , 000 .
Grey Taylor does not think the scope of work is a $10 , 000 job.
Steve Greelish said he would go with Ian ' s recommendation since he will
have to work with them.
Peter directed Ian to go forward with Dames and Moore .
Charrette - the 5th and 6th grades will be coming tomorrow 12 : 30-2 : 00 and
it is open to the public from 5 :00-8: 00 .
School Model - at the design development stage , SMMA will bring some cost
options to the Committee .
SITE ALTERNATIVES
Mark Chen reviewed the site work they had prepared.
First plan was the site with some basic topography .
Second , showed the utility easements . The utility easement acts as a
border, south of it is unusable . This plan showed the zoning requirements .
Tom explained that only a 40 foot, not 60 foot setback is required off of
151 because this is a residential zone .
