SMMA: Rochester 41 ,000 sq foot K-6 addition. Deerfield new elementary sc;zool opened in 1992 . Nantucket - $18 million project. Perkins and Will - Brooklyn and Bronx New York, Sommerville $21 million renovation. Paul will be in NYC on Feb 28 and will try to go to the Brooklyn school . The Committee could ask Nick Feldman is he knows anything about the school in the Bronx . The Committee would like to visit Nantucket. Peter will talk to the Selectmen about getting funds for Committee members to fly ($35 roundtrip) . After vacation, they will visit Nantucket and Deerfield. Design Partnership: Martha' s Vineyard, West Tisbury elementary, Chatham Middle school , completed in 1994, Rockport K-12 school , Lowell , completed Oct 1994. Bill Jones spoke with a building committee member from Chatham. They interviewed 12 other firms before picking Design Partnership. Peter, Paul and Joe will visit Rockport tomorrow ( Fri . 16th) . The Committee agreed they should send a letter to the Selectmen informing them of where this Committee is in the process. They have narrowed it down to 4 firms and are now doing site visits on the two new firms on the list. When will the next meeting be? The Committee agreed the next meeting will be Tuesday, March 1st at 4:00 p.m. ** Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to adjourn at 9 : 35 p.m. Bill Jones seconded the motion. All members in favor.** Michael Pare explained that he would like to go the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las vegas with Mike Petrowski . He has been talking to Mike about AV for the high school , design ideas, equipment selection. At the convention they will see new equipment, make contacts . The room and convention are taken care of. He is requesting funds for the flight there. ** Bill Jones made a motion to ask the Selectmen to take the funds from the high school building project, or any other suitable source, so Michael Pare can attend the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas .
