HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1994 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Members Present: Joe Polito, Paul Griffin, Steve Greelish, Peter Dinizio, <br /> Merry Sue Ahlgren, Janice Mills, Bill Martiros <br /> Also Present: Greg Taylor, Bill Hauck, Tom Fudala, Gus Fredricks, <br /> Bob Fournier, Tom Wren, Bob Whritenour, Bill Cavanaugh, Dr. DeMoura <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 10 p.m. <br /> Anne Shaw, Town Treasurer, asked the Committee for an updated cash flow <br /> scheduled. She must know, as soon as possible, when she has to borrow <br /> again. Tom Wren will forward it to her by the end of the month . <br /> MINUTES <br /> ** Merry Sue made a motion to approve the minutes of October 5 , 1994. <br /> Paul seconded the motion. <br /> Bob had some corrections: pg. 2 Site Development. They have NOT received <br /> authorization to go into the Brynwood property. <br /> pg. 2 There will be a PRE- bid meeting. Pg 3. sinks - NO sink in the <br /> mailroom itself. Pg 5 - #23 Door finish HARDWARE. Pg 7 - Rizzo and WOODARD. <br /> ** Motion to approve the minutes as amended. All members were in <br /> favor 6-0.** <br /> COMMITTEE DISCUSSION <br /> Peter read a letter from Michael Pare which stated, due to time <br /> constraints, he must resign from the Committee. <br /> Mr. John Pelligrino was present to discuss with the Committee concerns he <br /> has about traffic on Rte 151 . Traffic is very heavy and fast on that road <br /> now. Getting out from the side streets is a problem. What does the <br /> Committee propose to do with that road? After the school is built and the <br /> lights are in it will be to late for his input. <br /> Peter explained the Committee is doing a traffic study. The previous <br /> architectural firm also did a traffic study for the site selection process. <br /> This Committee is working with Greg Taylor, DPW Director. SMMA is retaining <br /> a consultant to do a traffic study. <br /> Mr. Pelligrino said he is looking for the speed limit to be cut down. <br /> Peter said that is an issue for Greg Taylor. This Committee has no <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> Greg said preventing accidents on the road are an enforcement issue. The <br /> signal will help mitigate that somewhat. Lowering the speed limit does not <br /> slow down the traffic, enforcement does. <br /> Mr. Pelligrino had concerns about the line of site and clearing on the <br /> corner of Old Barnstable Road. <br /> Peter explained he should talk to the DPW Director about any current <br /> concerns he has about the road. If it is not rectified he can go to the <br /> Board of Selectmen . He asked Mr. Pelligrino if he wants to have input on <br /> the re-design of the intersection? He said he does. <br /> Bob Fournier explained at this point, a proposal has been submitted for a <br /> traffic study and it will also make recommendations for improvement. He <br /> 1 <br />
