MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE
TUESDAY , JULY 11 , 1990
TOWN HALL
Members Present : Merry Sue Ahlgren , Peter Dinizio , Joe Polito ,
Bill Martiros , Paul Griffin, Steve Greelish, Janice Mills
Also Present : Jim Byrne , Tom Wren, Joel Seeley, Ian Aitchison,
Dr . DeMoura
Meeting convened at 4 : 02 p. m.
MINUTES
The Committee will not vote on the minutes until an agreement has
been reached with the contractor for the value added items .
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
Joel presented the contractor ' s second submittal of the CPM. It
was agreed it would be fully approved prior to their next pay-
requisition ( to be submitted in 2 weeks ) .
Paul asked how this will guarantee Stone will finish the job on
time :'
Joe said it won' t guarantee their performance but it will provide
a baseline to establish their adherence to .
Paul asked if the schedule is realistic?
Joel said they have studied certain characteristics of the CPM
but have not yet studied the allotment of days to certain tasks .
The red lines = critical path items .
The schedule will show, for example , if the contractor has fallen
behind by more than 10% . They will then have to show how they
will catch up , and prove it .
If a change order is needed by a certain day, that should be
worked backwards on the schedule .
Jim said he will have this hanging in his trailer with a string
attached, to visually show where the Contractor is and where he
should be .
Tom explained the caps are float time . They can loose time
without loosing time on the completion of the project .
Joel explained all line items have certain dollar values tied to
the schedule of value . This provides a way to track pay
requisitions and judge it against the schedule .
Monthly, Stone must provide a "window" looking 1 month behind and
1 month ahead . They will also be updating the graphic part of
the schedule but it will always be based on this ( final ,
approved) CPM .
Paul said , if there is a change , and the Committee agrees to it ,
Stone has to issue a new CPM.'
Tom said they do , and prove to the Committee they can complete
the work in that amount of time .
1
