Jim said once the CPM is accepted , if the Contractor falls more
than 10% behind , the specs say the Committee can tell the
contractor what to do to catch up . Peter said this CPM becomes
part of the contract'
Yes it does .
Peter said , if the contractor falls behind , he has to catch up at
his expense?
Yes he does .
Paul said it is important to agree with all these line items now ,
so they have that leverage when he is falling behind .
Peter asked if the schedule is showing time to move into the
building^
Joel explained some categories need to be added , FF&E move in ,
end testing , for example . Stone must add those to the CPM.
Paul said he feels the contractor is still slipping from the
schedule .
Jim said they have placed an average of 138 feet of footing per
day. 2 weeks ago they said they would be doing 250 £t per day.
Paul would like SMMA to send a letter to Stone notifying them the
Committee feels they are falling behind schedule . He wants to be
on record that the Committee knows they are falling behind .
FF & E
Joel presented a letter to the Committee from Ed Frenette
regarding the technology consultant . SMMA is prepared to
recommend CCR for the final phase of technology consulting .
Paul explained he received a fax from John Brooks,.( as did SMMA
and Dr . DeMoura) . Mr Brooks felt there were at a disadvantage ,
felt SMMA was against them and certain figures in the town of
Mashpee were against him. Paul said the letter sounded hostile .
He felt the Committee told him up front they wouldn' t have
invited him if they were not serious .
Paul said the Committee can accept the recommendation of CCR or
ask SMMA to invite someone else . The field is rather new and he
knows of only 1 other firm to possibly invite and he is not sure
they could do the entire job .
Janice said CCR was really enhanced by hooking up with MEC .
Paul agreed. Before the meeting , he had concerns about CCR. He
was impressed with them after the interviews , especially with
Carol of MEC . Paul said Ed Frenette also now feels good about
CCR. They are trying to build a reputation in this market , they
are hungary.
Steve said MEC has been around for awhile and during the last few
years they have specialized in education training/software . He
thinks the Committee has the best combination ( CCR and MEC ) that
exists now.
Janice said she is concerned about the furniture timeline . The
2
