CCR' s fee and SMMA' s 10% markup is $96 , 250 .
Paul asked what the additional $19 , 420 for SMMA is for :'
Joel explained the consultant will provide a master document , the
bidding is proposed to be handled by SMMA, because there were
originally 2 out of state consultants who couldn' t handle the
bidding .
Paul asked if CCR has the ability to handle the whole thing?
Joel said they could, but it was not structured that way.
Paul said $19 , 000 to put this out to bid is extensive . He is not
convinced it is a good value for the money . It sounds like there
is a lot of double services that are not required . SMMA does not
need to attend meetings along with CCR.
SMMA' s 10% plus this $19 , 000 is almost $28 , 000 to administer this
consultant which is about 1/4 of CCR' s fee .
Ian asked about the clerical hours?
Joel explained there may be a change in the contract documents ;
as a result of this work, which must be incorporated . SMMA will
process the chane orders , etc .
Paul thinks it is a tremendous duplication of work . There is no
value added to have both firms (CCR and SMMA ) attend 1 meeting .
He said if therE is a change to the infrastructure , they can
identify the impact to SMMA at that time . He has a hard time
dealing with it in the dark, not knowing the impact, .
Joe said he thought the Committee chose the right firm to ward
off that problem from occurring ( change to infrastructure ) .
.Joel said they can ask CCR to include that wort: in their
proposal , but they will have to amend their proposal .
Paul suggested approving the $96 , 000 to get them going and they
can come back with a proposal for the additional work.
Paul does not see any piece missing from OCR' s proposal , except
that CCR will only supply of copy of the RFP. He does not. see
any value in giving it to SMMA.
Peter asked what SMMA' s 10% markup was for?
Joel explained it is to administer, process and have this
consultant under SMMA' s umbrella.
Paul said he totally agrees with that .
Peter asked , if the Committee did approve this fee ( $19 , 000 ) and
then CCR had to do a total re-design of the infrastructure and it
cost more than $19 , 000 would SMMA charge more':
Joel said they tried to anticipate ; if it is more expensive there
would be no additional charge , this would be the limit .
Merry Sue asked if it is a good deal"
Paul said he finds that hard to believe .
.Janice said she does not think the technology philosophy will
change .
4
