n
r
the motion. All members were in favor 5-0**
**Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their
approval and preparation of a purchase order for Merrimack
Education Center for start up and installation for MEC Net
for $3 , 750 . Merry Sue seconded the motion.
This is for the education internet connection.
** All members in favor 5-0**
Joe asked if 6 days of training is sufficient for the student
management software?
John Williams explained it is for capturing existing student
information and training the staff and administration on how to
load new student info. They will customize all accounts in the
building . This is something they will have to buy into every
year.
Mike asked if Steve wants to have more conversations regarding
the internet server or should he resolve it in the direction we
are going?
Steve would like to look at the technical specs and if need be,
he will delegate it to someone else .
Paul reminded Mike to get a delivery schedule to Jim Byrne asap.
He would like equipment to begin to be delivered August 27th.
Paul asked Mike if he had talked to our telephone vendor?
Mike has , he is in agreement now.
Paul would like a label made for each phone stating it is the
property of the Town of Mashpee and that it is digital technology
and will only work on this system.
Paul said Manny Tavares is still waiting for input from John
Williams for some areas.
John said he just sent him some information, he think almost all
areas are covered. There will be things through the year they
find will be needed.
John said the lockers all need locks . He has asked Manny to
order 400 immediately and ultimately will need 2 , 200 ( for lockers
and gym lockers ) .
Paul suggested they also spec a bolt cutter.
Merry Sue asked if you can project off of the white boards which
are now hung in each classroom? They had wanted grey boards with
a mat finish. This is not what she expected. They did not order
any screens because they expected to be able to use the grey
boards for that. This was talked about a number of times .
Joel will talk to Ed Frenette about it.
Paul said Stone is presently installing soap dispensers in the
bathroom that the Committee did not want . In every school they
visited, the stems were broken off of them.
3
