Merry Sue asked about the railing at the corridor, the sheetrock
is all broken?
Jim said they are doing repair work to the railing , the fill on
the bottom is not yet completed.
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
Stone said they will have all of section A, B & E ready to
inspect by the end of this week. SMMA has to do an above ceiling
punchlist in C & D this week.
SMMA did a punchlist for derrick 1 and Stone has completed almost
all the work, only minor items and paperwork are still due .
There was a meeting with Stone , their attorney, the bonding
company and Paul on Friday morning . They discussed the definition
of substantial completion. The contract clearly defines what it
completion is . Presently, the best date for substantial p letion for A,B
' & E is August t 23rd.
Merry Sue asked if we can use the building without an occupancy
permit?
Paul said the building inspector was at Friday' s meeting . He
does not think there is a problem with that until September 4th,
when the students arrive .
The Committee reviewed the plans which are marked with red lines,
for where a snow fence will be installed to keep students out of
construction areas . Purple areas are site work that must be
finished before school opens , except possibly for the shrubbery.
The large trees and seeding will be completed.
Section C & D are close but Paul does not think they will be
ready for Sept . 4th. Cafeteria equipment is going in now, should
be finished by 16th. Gym ceiling goes in on the 14 , 15th. They
are presently sanding the floor.
There is still a lot of work in the shower areas . Epoxy floors
were supposed to start today.
Stone was told we want the auditorium ready by October 6th ( for
Oct 7th town meeting) but they weren' t sure they could make it.
They painted the above ceiling the wrong color.
Mike Pietrowski asked if there is any scaffolding or walkway to
reach the lighting , in the auditorium?
Paul said there is a special rig you can rent to go between the
chairs to reach it .
Mike asked if the lights at the stage are changeable?
Paul said the light work is not yet completed, it will be taken
care of. There is a tremendous amount of work left in there .
Art areas : there is drop ceiling work and clean up remaining .
Steve asked about the status of the bathroom wall?
4
