i
v
Joe asked why Stone didn' t take Dan' s directive last fall?
Dan said probably cost . They thought it to be less expensive to wait for
the irrigation to be in place and then re-seed.
Peter mentioned the sensitivity of time . The Committee has to make this
decision right away.
Paul said if necessary, the Committee will have another meeting . However,
as fast as this Committee can move , it still has to go to the Selectmen. He
does not know if we can get someone physically working there in 5 weeks .
Joel said the track is interrelated because they don't ' want any vehicles
driving on the track to get to the football field .
Paul said he is not optimistic about this .
Peter asked Dan, if we delay action to the spring will the fields be ready
for the fall?
Dan said probably. The fields are in salvageable condition. He walked them
today with the greens keeper for New Seabury golf course , who is a
specialist . He believes if the fields are re-seeded in the spring they may
be useable for late summer/early fall use .
Dr. DeMoura said the school department needs some guidance . They have
contracted with someone 'to maintain the fields, beginning January 1 , 1997 .
Should that be delayed?
Paul said he cannot answer that now but he will advise Dr. DeMoura well in
advance of the January 1 date.
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS/INTERIM PAYMENT
Paul , along with some Selectmen, took a walk through the building today.
He does not know of any issues that came up.
Bob Whritenour agreed.
Paul explained Alan Scott will soon be giving us a date of when Stone will
deliver section C & D.
Steve asked how we did with Occuhealth testing?
Joel said they tested all of A,B & E. They have preliminary results on some
of the rooms . The airborne material counts are no higher than those
outside . They will follow that up in writing when the growth period is
finished.
Steve asked about the hot/cold water mix up?
Jim said Stone is aware of it and it is being addressed .
Merry Sue asked about the water fountain water quality?
Jim said they are waiting for results from Elias McQuaid .
Paul explained that is not an occupancy issue . We have portable water if
necessary.
Interim Payment .
Jim explained that Tom Wren (who was no% present ) said the prevailing wage
info is basically up to date . There are a few issues . He reminded the
Committee that this is last months payment requisition. They have not
received one for this month from Stone .
3
