that he has not seen, it could create a problem for the system.
Joel has talked to Mike Kirwin about this . There are a few issues with the
TV outlets beyond that one . He has talked with HB who is installing them.
They will issue a directive to Stone to fix those areas . There will then be
a spot check.
Mike thinks every single one should be checked.
Steve said there is a way to test the connections , with a TDR, it will tell
you the quality of the connection.
Paul said they should do a spot check and TDR, if they are not satisfied,
they will inspect all of them. We will not accept anything substandard.
Paul asked Manny for an update on the furniture and equipment , in general .
Manny said most of the furniture needed for opening is on site . 800 more
chairs are coming . Miscellaneous items are coming in a few day. The
cafeteria tables are all here . Stacking chairs are all here .
The library shelving is 60-70% complete , library furniture is all on site .
John Williams asked about installations . It was said there would be an
absence of workmen during school hours after taking occupancy, how will
that be effected?
Paul explained there will be no construction work. Furniture installation
will go on.
Jim has notified vendors that some delivery and set up may have to be
scheduled around the school day.
Jim explained that he has finalized with Manny what sections are to be
unloaded and installed vs . those that are not . Dr. DeMoura has provided a
custodian to assist Chartwell in unloading.
Paul suggested to the Committee that they authorize Chartwell to obtain
manpower when necessary, at a cost to the Committee , to deal with delivers
that do not include unloading or installation. The Committee would have
bought it from the vendor if it were available . We owe it to the School
Department to set up the building on our budget not theirs.
Committee members agreed .
Dr. DeMoura will keep the bills of the custodians working in that capacity
separate .
Grey board in the classrooms : Paul explained Ed Frenette has said the glare
is no different on the boards whether they are mat or gloss ( they tested
them) . Only a screen will eliminate the glare .
Merry Sue said she has seen the grey boards in action, without the glare .
They specifically asked for mat finish and these are glossy. The mat grey
boards are advertized for projection capability.
Paul said what is installed is what we bought .
Merry Sue said it is not what we asked for.
Paul suggested the school department go through the rooms and make a list
of their concerns.
John Williams would like a bulletin board in his office .
Dr. DeMoura sent the Committee a letter asking for intercom system
training .
7
