MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8 , 1996
HIGH SCHOOL
Present : Merry Sue Ahlgren, Janice Mills , Paul Griffin, Peter Dinizio ,
Steve Greelish, Joe Polito
Also Present : John Williams , Tom Wren, Jim Byrne , Joel Seeley, Mike Kirwin
Meeting convened at 4 : 05 p. m.
MINUTES
** Merry Sue made a motion to accept the minutes of September 24 ,
1996 . Janice seconded the motion. All members were in favor 5-
0 . **
UPDATE
Paul explained, since the last meeting , the school has opened ! He was
present that day and thought it went well .
John Williams agreed. There are a few minor things that need to be
addressed . Everyone has adapted well . The building is greatly appreciated
by both staff and students . Everyone is anxious for C & D.
Peter asked how the cafeteria situation is working ( eating in the main
corridor )'.
John said OK, it is better than the tent . It is noisy but a better
solution than eating in classrooms .
Paul explained they produced a form, to be distributed to staff , to create
a deficiency list , for those things that don' t work or are missing .
Peter said he heard many things on the list were "wish list" type items .
Paul will review and evaluate the list . For example, the main office
secretary has no system clock in the reception area. We didn' t buy it but
it is necessary.
Sections C & D: Paul said despite speaking with Alan Scott every day for
the last week, as of 4 : 00 today he has not heard from him regarding when C
& D will be delivered.
The superintendent ' s office space will hopefully be started this week.
They will wait for Christmas or February vacation to complete the air
conditioning work.
Tom Wren asked if that work has to be done after hours?
It has to be done during non school time .
Auditorium: they are short a few pieces of carpet but expect it to be here
Friday. The stage floor should be complete by Friday.
Mike Kirwin received a letter from HB Communications regarding 3 items in
the auditorium.
Joel explained it is about the video projector and height of the ceiling .
They are part of the technology change order. Stone is not yet at the
point of work where these concerns will be addressed.
1
