Peter asked how the fire detection, alarm and security systems are working?
Paul said they are very sophisticated systems . The security system is
operational in A, B & E but zoned out for C & D.
Paul said there are a few things remaining to be done in C & D. Expansion
joint plates by the locker room corridor will not arrive for 2 1/2 weeks .
He described a possible alternative solution until they do arrive . Joel
does not think you need the plates for building occupancy.
Joel explained he has begun to punch out C & D.
The acid neutralization tank is scheduled to be delivered. Tuesday. By the
end of the week they can start using the science labs .
Athletic Fields : Stone has hired a company from the lower Cape to do the
slice seeding; they have more sophisticated equipment . They were to start
Thursday but because of the rain they plan to wait until next Thursday.
Steve asked if they he did the remediation work?
Jim said they have done a lot of it . They have been working on the fields
every day since the last meeting . Dan Solien has been here every day.
Waiting until next Thurs . for the slice seeding was a joint decision of the
contractor and Dan.
Tom Wren asked, now that we are out of the growing season, is Stone seeding
at their own risk?
Joel said they have been notified that there will probably need to be a
third seeding in the Spring .
Merry Sue asked if this will delay the track until Spring?
Paul said he and Joel have talked about the benefits of delaying the track:
- the track installer needs perfect weather to put it down, at this point
it is a real wild card.
- if the fields don' t take , they will have to run trucks over the track in
the spring to fix the fields .
They will need to get a storage recommendation from the manufacturer
because the materials are already on site.
Peter asked if the baseball fields will be ready by Spring?
Paul said we don' t know yet . The students should not play on them
prematurely.
John Williams said they hadn't planned on using the baseball/ softball
fields this spring .
Tom Wren asked about the football scoreboard? Joel asked John Williams
about it at the last meeting . It is a turnkey package .
Road Improvements : The poles have finally come out of Old Barnstable Road .
Today they are working on the top course . The road markings and sidewalk
remain.
Tom explained there is still some paperwork to be completed , because of
back charging for the moving of the fire hydrant (which was originally
installed in the wrong location) .
2
