The School Department also requested portable bleachers for the baseball fields.
Dr. DeMoura said he submitted a memo with the size and cost of the units. They would like a
couple for each field. Dr. DeMoura priced them at$24,000 which would be the high cost
because is would have to go out to bid.
Paul asked realistically how many spectators do we expect to get at games? How many do they
get in Falmouth.
Kathy Lynch went to a baseball game at the Middle School last year where the visitors had more
spectators than we did.
Dr. DeMoura would also like benches for the football field for the players.
Paul will research it over the next few weeks.
Kathy Lynch said thy will also need a golf cart to take players off the filed when they are hurt.
Peter suggested asking someone to donate one. Mr. Home tried that and was turned down.
- Security System:
Dr. DeMoura explained when the budget was cut,the security system was downgraded. They
would like to be able to have separate security zones for portions of the building, presently they
cannot do that. It is estimated to cost$8,000-$10,000 to re-work it.
At a minimum they would like to have 3 zones and a flexible main panel to make changes.
Paul will look at it.
-Elevator: it needs to be locked with a key from the outside, presently they cannot do that. Now
it locks from the inside and the doors remain open and people can access the phone.
The elevator company said it is possible and allowable to lock it from the outside. It would cost
$600.
-Dr. DeMoura explained the button for the steel door is on the wrong side of the door- it is on
the cafeteria side which is the more active side. They would like to put a guard, which can be
locked, over the panel.
** Paul made a motion to approve$600.00 to make changes to the elevator as requested
by the School Department. Merry Sue seconded the motion. All members were in
favor 5-0**
Chartwell presented a frame with photographs of the high school in various stages of
construction as a gift to Paul for all his efforts. Paul thanked Chartwell.
John Williams explained there are some rooms where the phone lines are not activated, or there
are no phone lines.
Paul said he would like them to determine definitively, in all rooms what is needed before
proceeding with any work. It could just be a programming issue.
John Williams also said there are rooms without loudspeaker. Jim never received a list of
which rooms it is. He has authority to add the loudspeakers as well as clocks in the cafeteria and
