Joel Seeley
CC Paul Griffin, Building Committee d ad 4-MIA ry u-,Zi
From Tom Wren 1,44 Cv rz•zT
Date May 11, 1995 P6 (5 12.30 ,
Re Tertiary Stage Technology Sub-Consultant: Draft RFP
We refer to your facsimile transmission received on April 28, 1995 regarding the above.
Chartwell's observations and queries on the present Draft are provided below. As the Draft
contains no design component capable of review by members of the Peer Review Team,
no input was sought from Pyramid Design. We wish to stress that our remarks are made by
way of suggestion only, as it would be improper for us to assume a leading role in what
you include in your agreements with your sub-consultants. Nevertheless, we hope you find
our remarks to be of help in finalising this matter.
The Building Committee will probably wish to contribute to, or raise additional queries on,
the Draft at next Tuesday's meeting. The Committee might also wish to know the names of
the organizations from whom you intend to seek proposals and their respective
reputations.
In general, the Draft RFP appears to be adequate for the purpose intended but we have the
following observations and queries:
1. We would assume that the overall design by and between the three sub-consultants
(Childs, CCR and the Tertiary Stage sub-consultant) will be in all respects coordinated
and that the systems as installed will meet the functional needs of the school and its
occupants.
2. First sentence to paragraph 1, page 1. We believe that an addition to the end of this
sentence such as "...until such time as the systems are fully operational to the
satisfaction of the Owner (which shall have the same meaning as ascribed in the
construction documents)', or similar, would be of benefit.
3. Third sentence to paragraph 1, page 1 . Suggest "...vendors, final testing and training
of school's selected staff." or similar.
