A
FACSIMILE I1h r,,,- \J1J iJ L
Temporary Project Office
Tel 508 4772868
Fax 508 539 0821
Mashpee High School Project Management
Joel Seeley, SMMA
Tertiary Stage Technology Sub-Consultant
May 11, 1995
4. Fourth sentence to paragraph 2, page 1 . Could the end of this sentence be
strengthened; such as "...will, on completion, and for the duration of the warranty
period, all function together as a homogeneous and indivisible whole in complete
integration." ?
5. What are the likely warranty periods of the equipment and how will they tie-in with the
certificate to be provided by the Tertiary Stage sub-consultant as comment 4 above?
6. Final testing. Is the Fall of 1996 as stated in paragraph 3 to page 1 sufficiently precise
and in advance of the needs of the school? We suggest that the Superintendent of
Schools should be consulted on this.
7. Is it the intention that the Tertiary Stage sub-consultant, being responsible for final
acceptance testing, will under-write the work of Childs and CCR? For example, at final
acceptance testing if, for whatever reason, a persistent 'bug' is found which could be
said by the vendor(s) to originate from the design rather than the installation, how will
it be treated? Apart from SMMA, which of the technology consultants will "own" the
problem and its speedy resolution so as not to delay the operation of the technological
needs of the school?
8. Phase 1 ; paragraphs 1 and 2. Could these line items lead to a rethink on what has
already taken place as regards the Technology Program? With respect to comment 7
above, would it not be better if the Tertiary Stage sub-consultant is obliged to inherit
the existing Technology Program? Or, if not, are Childs and CCR going to sign-off on
any changes the Tertiary Stage sub-consultant may wish to make so that all three are
in complete technical unison?
9. Phase 1 , line-item 3. Meaning of "site" [Read 'Town"]? Presumably, "all existing
systems" includes a review and analysis of the infrastructure wiring and anything to be
constructed under the General Contract. If changes are found to be necessary, will
instructions be issued to tie-in to the needs of the General Contractor's Schedule?
