7 • <br /> . b) COMMERCIAL SHELLFISH PERMITS are issued. to an <br /> individual to harvest shellfish for the purpose of <br /> sale or other consideration. Said individual must be <br /> sixteen years of age or older and be domiciled or a <br /> full-time resident of the Town of Mashpee. Proof of <br /> residency will be required to obtain a permit. A <br /> current valid State of Massachusetts Bed Certificate <br /> (State Commercial Shellfish Permit) must be obtained <br /> and presented prior to obtaining a Mashpee Commercial <br /> Shellfish Permit. Effective January 1, 1994 <br /> Commercial Shellfish Permits will be issued from <br /> March 1 to April 30 . They will not be issued at <br /> other times of the year. Quahogs, soft-shell clams, <br /> scallops (in season) , razor clams and mussels can be <br /> taken on a Commercial Shellfish Permit. <br /> c) SPECIAL OYSTER PERMITS are issued to an individual <br /> for the express purpose of harvesting oysters under a <br /> special' program of oyster propagation conducted by <br /> the Mashpee Shellfish Department under special <br /> regulations issued by the Board of Selectmen. These <br /> permits are subject to the residency/taxpayer <br /> requirements and qualifications outlined under <br /> non-commercial permits. It is not necessary to <br /> obtain any other shellfish permit to obtain a Special <br /> Oyster Permit. Oysters taken under this permit are <br /> for non-commercial use and are not of be sold or <br /> traded for other considerations. <br /> d) COMMERCIAL SCALLOP PERMITS are issued to an <br /> individual to harvest scallops (in season) for <br /> sale or other consideration. Said individual must <br /> sixteen years of age or older and be domiciled or a ', <br /> full-time resident of the Town of Mashpee. Proof of <br /> residency will be required. An individual <br /> holding a Commercial Shellfish Permit will not need <br /> or be issued a Commercial Scallop Permit. The <br /> scallop catch and fishing limits and regulations for <br /> the Commercial Scallop Permit are the same as for <br /> scallops under the Commercial Shellfish Permit. <br /> ,i <br /> ARThCLE III. GENERAL REGULATIONS <br /> 1) No shellfish.ing activity or landing of shellfish may '; . <br /> occur during the hours after sunset and before sunrise <br /> on the following day. <br /> 2) Any person(s) engaged in shellfishing or having shellfish <br /> in their possession must have on their person a valid <br /> Mashpee Shellfish Permit, and a two inch shellfish- <br /> measuring ring or guage. <br /> 3) Shellfish permits must be worn in a visible location on <br /> the permit holder ' s clothing or be immediately available <br /> to the permit holder while engaged in shellfishing or <br /> having shellfish in their possession. <br /> �i <br /> 3 <br />
