Moderator waived the reading of the Article with the bodies approval. 3i <br /> I will take a motion and then an explanation. , <br /> ARTICLE 22. To see if the Town will vote to amend <br /> the Town By-Laws by adding thereto the following: <br /> "Article 3.7 Reversion of Specific Appropria- <br /> tions to the General Fund <br /> Section 3.7.1 Definitions: As used in this Arti- <br /> cle, the following words shall have the following" <br /> meaning: a <br /> l _ I <br /> "General Appropriation" — Any appropriation made i <br /> by Town Meeting which is not a specific appropriation <br /> within the meaning of this Article. <br /> "Specific Appropriation" — An appropriation made <br /> by the Town Meeting which is described within the ''_:}'" <br /> vote making the appropriation as being "specific", „? , <br /> and is otherwise a specific appropriation under the <br /> law. ` <br /> Section 3.7.2 Reversion of General Appropria- <br /> tions to the General Fund General appropriations <br /> made by the Town Meeting shall continue to revert to <br /> the general fund at the close of the fiscal year for <br /> which they are made, as provided by law. <br /> Section 3.7.3 Reversion of Specific Appro- <br /> priations to the General Fund Unless otherwise <br /> provided in a vote of the Town Meeting making a <br /> specific appropriation, or unless a specific appro- <br /> priation has been encumbered by contractural obliga- <br /> tions,specific appropriations shall have a normal life E <br /> of three(3)years from the commencement of the fiscal <br /> year in which it was approved. At the end of the third <br /> Y PP <br /> fiscal year, any funds remaining in that appro- <br /> priation shall revert to the general fund.A vote mak- I I <br /> ing a specific appropriation may provide that the ` <br /> appropriation shall revert to the general fund at the l!i '',.' <br /> end of any fiscal year. �"N ' <br /> i <br /> Section 3.7.4 The Town may, at any time under i4 <br /> proper article in a warrant, extend the date on which a = <br /> a specific appropriation would otherwise revert to the <br /> general fund.
