To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by <br /> purchase or eminent domain for conservation and roadway purposes all, or a major <br /> portion, of a parcel of land of 4.1 acres, more or less, identified on the 1987 <br /> Mashpee Assessors' Maps as Map 28, Plot 68, generally located at the intersection <br /> of Main Street (Route 130)and South Sandwich Road,all but the most westerly 200 <br /> feet of the said land to be held in the care and custody of the Conseryation Commis- <br /> Sion pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 8C, with the <br /> remainder to be held by the Board of Selectmen for roadway purposes; further, to <br /> see if the Town will vote to appropriate $100,000 orany other Sum for such purpose, <br /> including expenses incidental and related thereto) and to raise such appropriation, <br /> the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be authorized to borrow <br /> $100,000 or any other sum under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7(3) and, if <br /> applicable, Chapter 40, Section 8C, of the General Laws, or any other enabling <br /> authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, with said bonding <br /> authorization contingent upon passage of a referendum to exclude the principal and <br /> interest on such debt from 'the tax levy limitation imposed by Chapter 59, Section <br /> 21 C, of the General Laws (so-called Proposition 2 1 /2); and further, to see if the <br /> Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $8,500 or <br /> any other sum,to the Main Street Land Purchase Account to provide for interest and <br /> debt issuance expenses; further, to see if the Town will authorize the Board of <br /> Selectmen and/or Conservation Commission to applyfor and accept Federal and/or <br /> State grants,including reimbursement under Chapter 1 32A, Section 11 of the <br /> General Laws, to be applied by the Town toward the financing of this purchase, and <br /> to enter into contracts and agreements with Federal and/or State agencies, private <br /> conservation trusts, or other entities or persons in connection with the purchase of <br /> such land and preservation for conservation purposes of the specified portion of <br /> such land and finaliv, to see if the Town will authorize the Conservation Commission <br /> and the Board of ��rLlectrnen to enter into agreements and execute any and all <br /> instruments as ma'.- be necessary on behalf of the Town to effectuate said <br /> purcnase,- <br /> .�.o _on ,o raise and aDoro-�riate 3100,000 <br /> borrow $100,000 <br /> raise and aDDronriate 38500 -co the Main Street Purcha3e Ac_co,in : <br /> 10r interest and debt issuance <br /> MOTION CARRIES. . . . . . .YES 110. . . . . .NO 20. . . .9 :39 P.M. <br /> 21 debt exclusion <br /> 3allot vote YES NO <br /> -;;C, <br /> 353 <br />
