"Foreshores"-a foreshore is the part of a waterway shore that is between average high <br /> water and average low water(tidal and seasonal), or in other words beaches and marsh. <br /> B. "Headway Speed" z the slowest speed at which a watercraft may be operated and <br /> maintain steerage way. <br /> C. "Harbormaster"-Chief Harbormaster and Assistant Harbormasters duly empowered by <br /> the General Laws of Massachusetts. <br /> D. "Personal Watercraft"- a small vessel which uses an inboard motor powering a water jet <br /> pump as its primary source of motive power and which is designed to be operated by <br /> persons sitting, standing, or kneeling on the vessel. The term includes but is not limited <br /> to a jet ski, wet bike, or surf jet so-called,plus motorized or propelled surfboards. <br /> E. "Persons" - includes individuals, corporations, societies, associations, partnerships, and <br /> trusts. r <br /> F. "Private Swim Area"- a privately owned(e.g.by corporations, homeowners associations, <br /> etc.) area,belonging to more than one family unit,which is defined by signs and floating <br /> markers and that has been approved by the Selectmen and the Harbormaster as a private <br /> swim area. <br /> G. "Slow, No Wake" - A slow speed at which a watercraft can still be controlled, yet <br /> produce no wake. Approximately 6 miles per hour. See Headway Speed. <br /> H. "Watercraft" -Any vessel or object used to navigate the waterways. Includes but is not • <br /> limited to, a motor boat, row boat,jet boat, sail boat, dinghy, inflatable boat or personal <br /> watercraft. <br /> I. "Waterways"-any body of water upon which watercraft can be used. <br /> In this bylaw, the definitions as found in MGL Chapter 90, §1 Definitions, as published and as <br /> may be amended, shall have the same meaning. <br /> §170-2. Promulgation of Regulations; Posting of Signs <br /> A. The Harbormaster shall promulgate regulations to implement the provisions of this <br /> chapter. <br /> B. The Harbormaster, Assistant Harbormasters, or Waterways Assistants shall see that <br /> speed, water-skiing, and personal watercraft regulations are posted at public landings on <br />
