Article 10 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available <br /> funds $9,950 to the Principal Long Term account and appropriate and transfer <br /> $2,250 from the Interest Inside 2 1/2 account to the Principal Long Term account, <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Treasurer/Tax Collector <br /> Explanation: The passage of this article will allow the Town to retire the debt on <br /> the Lopez property. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion to be made by David Leveille. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from Revenue <br /> Available for Appropriation $9,950 to the Principal Long Term account and <br /> appropriate and transfer $2,250 from the Interest Inside 2 %2 account to the <br /> Principal Long Term account. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:53pm. <br /> Article 11 <br /> To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available <br /> funds $40,000 to the Great Oak Road Conservation Land Account for the purpose <br /> of reimbursing the Orenda Wildlife Trust for funds provided to complete the <br /> acquisition of the 6.2 acre parcel of land which is identified on Mashpee <br /> Assessors' Map 116 as Block 1, said property acquisition having been authorized <br /> under Article 23 of the Annual Town Meeting held May 4, 1998 and/or to <br /> authorize the Board of Selectmen and the Conservation Commission to convey <br /> such interest or rights in and to said property, or any portion thereof, to the <br /> Orenda Wildlife Trust in consideration of the contribution by said Orenda <br /> Wildlife Trust, upon such terms and conditions as the Board of Selectmen and <br /> Conservation Commission shall deem to be in the best interest of the Town, or <br /> take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: Town meeting authorized the acquisition of the subject property at <br /> the May 4, 1998 Town meeting and authorized the Selectmen to enter into <br /> contracts with private conservation trusts or other entities in connection with the <br /> acquisition of this land. When the appraisals for this property established a <br /> current value in excess of the funds appropriated, the Town sought assistance <br /> from private groups in purchasing the property to prevent its development. The <br /> Orenda Wildlife Trust came forward with a commitment of$40,000 to complete <br /> the transaction and forestall the development. In providing these funds, the Trust <br />
