Article 18
To see if the Town will vote to amend Article II of Chapter 79 of the Town
Bylaws, by adding the following sentence to Section 79-5.2, Penalties for Failure
to License Dogs.
"The Town Clerk's Office shall have the authority to assist the Animal Control
Officer in issuing non-criminal citations for unlicensed dogs, in accordance with
M.G.L. 40, Section 21.D.
or take any other action relating thereto.
Submitted by Town Clerk
and Animal Control Officer
Explanation: This amendment would allow the Town Clerk's office to alleviate
the paperwork for the Animal Control Officer and enable the Clerk to issue
violations.
Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
Motion made by Wayne Taylor.
Motion: I move Article 18 be approved as printed in the warrant with the
exception of the phrase, "or take any other action related thereto."
Motion passes at 8:09pm.
Article 19
To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 5-8 of its General Bylaws by
striking the words, "or appointed" from the first sentence, or take any other action
relating thereto.
Submitted by the Board of Selectmen
Explanation: Currently, Section 5-8 of the General Bylaws specifies that no
member of the Finance Committee may hold any other elected or appointed Town
office. This article seeks to remove the restriction that no member of the Finance
Committee may hold another appointed Town office.
Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends to indefinitely
postpone.
Motion made by Nancy Caffyn.
Motion: I move to indefinitely postpone.
Motion to indefinitely postpone passes at 8:11pm.
