t <br /> Article 20 <br /> To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire, by purchase <br /> or otherwise, for general municipal purposes, two parcels of land bounded <br /> generally by Great Neck Road North, Main Street (Route 130), the Cape Cod <br /> Coffee parcel and the Town Hall parcel, shown on the 1998 Mashpee Assessors' <br /> Maps as Map 36, Blocks 15 and 52, with Block 15 containing 19,730 sq. ft. and <br /> being more particularly described on a plan entitled "Plan of Land for Garry T. <br /> Melia in Mashpee, Massachusetts" dated November 13, 1997, by Christopher <br /> Costa & Associates, recorded at the Barnstable Registry in Plan Book 538, Page <br /> 83, and Block 52 containing approximately 1.2 acres and described in a deed <br /> recorded at the Barnstable Registry in Book 11520, Page 26; and further, to see if <br /> the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer from available <br /> funds $255,000 for such purpose, including expenses incidental and related <br /> thereto, and that to raise such appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of <br /> the Selectmen, be authorized to borrow $255,000 or any other sum under and <br /> pursuant to Chapter 44, Sections 7 and 8C of the General laws or any other <br /> enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor; and further, <br /> to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available <br /> funds $1000 to the Issuance of Debt Account; and further, to authorize the Board <br /> of Selectmen to enter into contracts or agreements with federal and/or state <br /> agencies and other public or private entities or persons in connection with such <br /> purchase, to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the General Court for <br /> any special legislation convenient or necessary for such acquisition or the <br /> financing thereof and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to execute any and all <br /> instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the Town to effectuate said <br /> acquisition; or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article authorizes and provides funding for the acquisition of <br /> two parcels of commercially zoned land located between the Town Hall and Main <br /> Street (Route 130). <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by David Leveille. <br /> Motion: I move that (i) the Board of Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to <br /> acquire, by purchase or otherwise, for general municipal purposes, two parcels of <br /> land bounded generally by Great Neck Road North, Main Street (Route 130), the <br /> Cape Cod Coffee parcel and the Town Hall parcel as shown on the 1998 Mashpee <br /> Assessors' Maps as Map 36, Blocks 15 and 52, with Block 15 containing 19,730 <br /> square feet and being more particularly described on a plan entitled "Plan of Land <br /> for Garry T.
