October 4, 1999 <br /> Annual Town Meeting <br /> i <br /> Article 20 - <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower the Historic District Study Committee <br /> established under Article 12 of the October 6, 1997 Annual Town Meeting, to make an investigation <br /> and report to the Town its recommendations regarding proposed historic districts throughout the town, <br /> as well as in the traditional Mashpee Village Center,or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Historic District Study Committee <br /> Explanation: When it was created in 1997,the Committee was directed to make annvestigation and <br /> report regarding creation of a historic district in the"traditional Mashpee Village Center". In pursuing <br /> this task, it has become apparent to the Committee that there are a number of areas of the town that <br /> should be considered for inclusion in a historic district or districts to fully represent the history of the <br /> town in a coherent fashion.
