General Criteria. All permitted or conditional home occupations must meet ' 1 <br /> the following criteria: <br /> a <br /> (1) Any home occupation shall not utilize an area greater than 600 square 1 <br /> feet. The area devoted to home occupations may be allocated between <br /> the principal building and an accessory building, but in no case shall the <br /> total floor area of the home occupation exceed 600 square feet. <br /> (2) No dwelling shall be built, altered, fumished, or decorated for the purpose + <br /> of conducting the home occupation in such a manner as to change the <br /> residential character and appearance of the dwelling, or in such a manner <br /> as to cause the structure to be recognized as a place where a home <br /> occupation is conducted. New accessory buildings or additions to the <br /> existing principal building used for a home occupation may be allowed <br /> provided that they are no larger than 600 square feet. 1 <br /> (3) No signs relating to the home occupation shall be allowed, except for <br /> those allowed under Section <br /> 17454. <br /> (4) No equipment or process shall be used in a home occupation that creates <br /> electrical interference, or noise, dust, vibration, glare, fumes, odors, or <br /> other objectionable effects perceptible outside the premises. In the case <br /> of electrical interference, no equipment or process shall be used which !, <br /> creates visual or audible interference in any radio or television receiver off j <br /> the premises. <br /> i <br /> (5) No traffic shall be generated by a home occupation in significantly greater <br /> volume than would normally be expected in the neighborhood, nor which <br /> jeopardizes traffic safety. <br /> (6) Clients or customers shall not visit the home occupation between the <br /> p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unless alternate hours are <br /> hours of 10:00 approved. <br /> (7) The dwelling unit within which the home occupation is conducted shall be <br /> the place of residence of the operator or operators of the home <br /> �r <br /> occupation. <br /> (8) Home occupation permits are valid only for the person(s) and use(s) <br /> approved and are nontransferable.
