Article 25 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the Great and ' <br /> General Court for special legislation to enable the Board of Selectmen, as the licensing authority <br /> under Mass. General Laws, Chapter 138, to issue additional licenses under Section 12 of Mass. <br /> General Laws, Chapter 138 for the sale of alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises <br /> provided any such license(s) is issued in conformance with all other provisions of Mass. General <br /> Laws, Chapter 138 and is issued in conjunction with a common victualler's license under Mass. <br /> General Laws , Chapter 140 to conduct a restaurant, or in conjunction with a innholder's license <br /> under Mass. General Laws, Chapter 140 to conduct a hotel, or in conjunction with a club <br /> license, under Section 12 of Mass. General Laws, Chapter 138, or in conjunction with a license <br /> given to a war veterans organization under Section 12 of Mass. General Laws, Chapter 138. <br /> Said special act shall be substantially in a form as follows: <br /> "Notwithstanding Section 17 of Chapter 138 of the Mass. General Laws, or any other special or <br /> general law to the contrary, the licensing authority of the Town of Mashpee may issue <br /> additional licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises under the <br /> ,r. <br /> provisions ofrMass. General Laws, Chapter 138, Section 12, provided any such license(s) is <br /> granted in conjunction with a common victualler's license under Mass. General Laws, Chapter +� <br /> 140 to conduct a restaurant, or in conjunction with an innholder's license under Mass. General <br /> Laws, Chapter 140 to conduct a hotel, or in conjunction with a club license under.Section 12 of <br /> Mass. General Laws, Chapter 138, or in conjunction with a license given to a war veterans <br /> organization under Section 12 of Mass. General Laws, Chapter 138. Any such license so issued <br /> shall be subject to all other provisions of said Chapter 138.", <br /> or to take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Explanation: This article seeks to sponsor legislation to create additional licenses for the sale <br /> of alcoholic beverages to be consumed on premises when such licenses are in conjunction with <br /> a restaurant, inn, club, or war veterans organization.
