Article 24 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Mashpee Code by striking Chapter 15, Article VII, <br /> Sections 15-16, 15-21, 15-22, 15-23 and 15-24 and inserting in place of Section 15-16 the <br /> following language: <br /> Section 15-16. Establishment of Committee; membership <br /> A Committee known as the"Capital Improvement Committee"shall be established to prepare a <br /> capital improvement program. This Committee shall perform the duties as specified in the <br /> following sections and shall consist of the following members: The Town Administrator, who <br /> shall serve as the Chairman of the Committee pursuant to the designation of this position as the <br /> Coordinator of Capital Programming under Article V of Chapter 27 of the Mashpee Code, a <br /> member or designee of the Board of Selectmen, who shall be designated annually by vote of <br /> the Board of Selectmen, a member or designee of the Finance Committee, who shall be <br /> designated annually by vote of the Finance Committee, the Town Accountant and a member at- <br /> large to be appointed annually by the Board of Selectmen., <br /> and further, to amend the Mashpee Code Chapter 15, Article VII, Section 15-17 by striking the <br /> words, "ten thousand dollars ($10,000)"as occurring in sentence 1 and sentence 2, and <br /> inserting in place thereof the words, "twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000)"., , <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. I k <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen " <br /> Explanation: This article streamlines the Capital Improvement planning process by <br /> replacing a large committee consisting of up to twenty members with a smaller <br /> management committee in order to make the planning process more efficient.
