Article 5
To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from available funds $10,000 to
the Cemetery Expense Account, or take any other action relating thereto.
Submitted by the Board of Selectmen
Explanation: This article will create an expense budget for maintenance of the Town
Cemeteries.
Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
Article 6
To see if the Town will vote to transfer $3,000 from the Harbormaster Salary & Wage
Account to the Herring Warden Salary & Wage Account, or take any other action relating
thereto.
Submitted by the Harbormaster
Explanation: This article would transfer funds currently in the Harbormaster's Salary &
Wage Account used for Herring Warden Assistants to the Herring Warden's Salary &
Wage Account.
Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
Article 7
To see if the Town will vote to create the position of part time End User Support (19
hours per week) under the Town's Personnel Administration Plan, Grade 11, Step 1, and
to further appropriate and transfer $11,238, with said funds to be distributed as follows:
$11,000 to the MIS Salary/Wage Account and $238 to the Medicare Account, or take
any other action relating thereto.
Submitted by the MIS Director
Explanation: This 19 hour per week position will help the Data Processing Department
meet the demand for technology and communications services for Town Hall
departments. The Town has reached the point where daily requirements cannot be
handled by one person. The position will enable the Data Processing Department to
maintain existing data and phone networks and critical database applications. This
position will allow us to implement and support the wide area network to departments
not located at the Town Hall site.
Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
Page 3
October 2002 Town Meeting
