Article 14
To see if the Town will vote to Amend the zoning bylaw to convert two existing C-2 commercial
districts to new"Limited Commercial"districts, as detailed in the attached Article.
Submitted by Petition
Explanation: As recommended in the Town's Comprehensive Plan, this article would convert
two existing C-2 commercial districts to new"Limited Commercial"districts intended to allow
commercial uses which would have less impact on the Town's roadways, environment and
visual character than development currently allowed in C-2 districts. The article lists the uses
that would be permitted, clarifies the types of commercial recreation and entertainment facilities
allowed in commercial districts, provides that any permits required in the C-3 districts, which
are in highly visible locations on route 151 and Route 130, and in the Mashpee Center Overlay
District around town Hall, must be issued by the Planning Board, specifies certain standards
applicable to projects in the C-3 district and elminates all references to the C-1-0 and C-1SV
overlay districts, located near the Mashpee Rotary, which were created in the early 1980s, have
never been used and whose provisions have been superceded by more recent zoning
provisions.
Article 15
To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning Bylaw as follows:
Amend Subsection 174-25.F.(7) by adding the letters"SP" under the C2 column, or take any
other action related thereto.
Submitted by Petition
Explanation: This article would allow drive-in eating places and drive-in windows for other
consumer service establishments in the C-2 Commercial zoning district. They are currently
permitted only in the C-1 district, which is the commercial zone in the rotary area.
Article 16
To see if the Town will vote to amend the General Bylaw Chapter 40-I, Section E, to include the
following subsection:
ORDER OF ARTICLES FOR TOWN MEETING
Section E1. Annual Town Meetings
The Annual Town Meeting shall act upon the following matters as warrant articles in such order
as shall be prescribed by the Board of Selectmen:
1. Conduct of town .elections
2. Committee reports and any action thereon
3. For purpose of paying unpaid bills
15
