Motion to amend Article 19 defeated at 9:04 p.m. <br /> Motion passes at 9:11 p.m. <br /> Article 20 <br /> To see if the Town will amend Section 174-55.0 as follows: <br /> In an industrial district, one (1) freestanding sign is permitted on each lot, provided that it does <br /> not stand forty (40) square feet in signboard area, does not exceed five (5) feet in height and is <br /> located closer than fifty(50) feet to a lot line. In commercial districts, one (1) freestanding stand I< <br /> ii <br /> per road access point is permitted, with permission of lot owner where sign would be positioned. <br /> Such sign will be limited to the name of the business and shall direct the public to its location. ? <br /> Such signs may not exceed forty (40) square feet in signboard area and may not be closer than i! <br /> twelve (12) feet to any lot line. The top edge of any such freestanding sign shall be not higher h' <br /> than twenty-five (25) vertical measure above the average level of the ground between the <br /> supports of each sign or take any other action related thereto. <br /> i <br /> Submitted by Petition It <br /> f <br /> Explanation: The purpose of this Article would allow a commercial business that is not visible <br /> from the road to advertise its location at a road access point. The purpose would only be to <br /> advertise a business that could not be seen from the road. <br /> Planning Board voted at a Public Hearing held on October 15, 2003 4-0 to indefinitely <br /> postpone. <br /> Motion by Theresa Cook to indefinitely postpone made at 9:12 p.m. <br /> Motion to indefinitely postpone passes at 9:16 p.m. <br /> Article 21 <br /> I <br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept the following new chapter to the Mashpee General Code: <br /> Chapter 38: Public Records and Open Meetings <br /> 38-1 Purpose <br /> This bylaw shall be known as the "Public Records and Open Meeting bylaw." The purpose of <br /> this bylaw is to ensure open access to public records and meetings; to provide for adequate <br /> disclosure of matters concerning the public interest and the accountability of Town Boards, <br /> Committees and Commissions; and to provide for strengthened local control and enforcement of I' <br /> the Commonwealth's Open Meeting Law, Chapter 39, Sections 23A and B, and the Public <br /> Records Law, Chapter 66 of the Massachusetts General Laws, and any related regulations or <br /> interpretations issued by the Attorney General or Secretary of the Commonwealth in effect at the <br /> time of adoption of this bylaw. <br /> October 20, 2003 Town Meeting I` <br /> I< <br /> r <br />
