TOWN OF MASHPEE
BOARD OF APPEALS
TOWN HALL, MASHPEE, MASSACHUSETTS 02649
p gyp. DECISION
RE, Petition of Edward J. Gallagher for a Variance Case ##V-85-06-030
A petition was filed by Edward J. Gallagher of Quincy, Massach-
usetts for a Variance for permission to remove all free standing signs
and install one new free standing sign 85.63 square feet, 25 feet
high on property located at Falmouth Road and Great Neck Road, Pine
Circle, Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachus-
etts General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication
in the Falmouth Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in
the Town of Mashpee on May 29, 1985 and June 5, 1985 a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, June 12, 1985, at 7s30 p.m. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughoutt Michael Makunas, William Hanrahan and Cheryl Hawver.
It was noted that members of the Design Review Committee felt
the sign was too high and preferred the old signs; they did not like
the pricing aspect and felt this was not in harmony with the character
of the village concept. The Board agreed with these comments. Mr.
Gallagher agreed to make the changes that the Board felt would be
more esthetically pleasing.
