MASHPEE BOARD OF APPEALS
Minutes
Wednesday, December 27, 1989
The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting at 7:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, December 27, 1989 at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members
present and acting throughout Cheryl A. Hawver, Richard E. Halpern,
Edward M. Govoni and John J. Friel. Member Michael A. Makunas arrived
at 7:50.
Walter C. Hay, Jr. - Requests a Special Permit under Sections 5.1
and 6.3.I.9 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to repair and maintain
a dock in Little River on property located in an R-3 zoning district
on a private road located off of Seconsett Point Road (Map 124, Block 25)
Mashpee, MA.
Members sitting: C. Hawver, E. Govoni and J. Friel
Jack Landers-Cauley of Benchmark Engineering represented the applicant.
He reviewed plans and explained that the pier has existed on the property
since 1955. The owner proposes to rebuild a bulkhead and replace a
walkway. The original dock would be replaced and a new dock built.
Mr. Landers-Cauley said the new pier would be in a t -formation to keep
boats away from the shoreline.
No comments were received from abutters. The Shellfish Constable
stated that he did not think the proposed structure would cause any
disruption to the environment. The Conservation Agent stated that his
commission had no objections.
John Friel moved to grant the Special Permit under Sections 5.1 and
6.3.1.9 per Benchmark plans 89028 dated 9/15/89. Mr.Govoni seconded.
All agreed.
Anthony R. and Kathleen A. Pelusi - Request a Special Permit under
Section 6.3.I.9 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to build ramps,
boardwalk and floats in an R-3 zoning district on property located
at 89 Whippoorwill Circle (Map 125, Block 153) Mashpee, MA.
Members sitting: C. Hawver, E. Govoni and J. Friel
Jack Landers-Cauley of Benchmark Engineering represented the applicant.
He reviewed plans with the Board for a deck, stairs, a second deck and
dock. Mr. Landers-Cauley reported that they have hired
• a consultant to evaluate the wildlife and plan extensive landscaping.
