He said that since the Flea Market usage is <br />still ongoing the development of McDonald's could adversely <br />impact on the traffic in that area. He commented that Mr. <br />Ching's report makes no mention of the flea market, mini -golf <br />and the build up of traffic south of the subject property. <br />Mr. Makunas asked what would be the hours of operation and <br />Mr. Holland replied they would be 6 A.M. to 11 P.M. daily and 6 <br />A.M. to 12 P.M. on weekends <br />Sid Stern and Donna Campisi, residents of Mashpee, stated <br />they were in favor of a McDonald's in Mashpee. Claire Friel, a <br />resident of Mashpee, stated her opposition to the application <br />and questioned the need for another restaurant in the Town. She <br />stated there were already family restaurants in Town and <br />questioned the economic impact on the existing restaurants. <br />Chris Borden, a resident of Mashpee, said the cost of the <br />restaurants in Mashpee Commons were high and there was a need <br />for a McDonald's. Mr. Stern stated that not only were the <br />Mashpee Commons restaurants expensive but the parking was <br />difficult. Donna Glennon, a resident of Mashpee, said there were <br />no restaurants in the Commons which did not serve liquor. <br />Adrienne Olmstead, a resident of Deer Crossing, said she felt <br />the traffic would be impossible from a McDonald's. Mary Jane <br />Tucci discussed the trash problems of fast food restaurants. <br />is <br />John Fitzgerald, the real estate representative of <br />McDonald's, said that McDonald's is involved with recycling. <br />He also said the wastewater discharge would be 2,000 gallons a <br />day rather than the 3,500 for which the system is designed. <br />M <br />Mr. Ching stated that he could provide the Board with <br />traffic studies on the Talanian land for any type of use Mr. <br />Jansson.choses. <br />. Mr. Kirrane requested copies of the correspondence in the <br />file. Mr. Makunas moved to provide the correspondence and to <br />continue the hearing to Tuesday, September 25, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. <br />Ms. Hawver seconded. All agreed. Mr. Makunas questioned the <br />status of Donna's Lane. Ms. Hawver called a recess from 9:40 - <br />9:50. <br />New Members: Ms. Hawver introduced Tom Christian and <br />Darrel Chapman, prospective new members of the Board. There was <br />discussion of the duties of the Board. <br />Kerrigan petitions: Mr. Hanrahan moved to grant the four <br />Variances on remand from Superior Court. Ms. Hawver seconded. <br />All agreed. <br />Forward Development: Mr. Makunas moved to request an <br />opinion from Town Counsel on the procedure for hearing the <br />. Appeal. Ms. Hawver seconded. All agreed. <br />
