BOARD OF APPEALS Minutes - April 12, 1989 Page 2.
Lloyd Gainsboro (cont.)
• Mr. Makunas moved to take the petition under advisement. Mr. Govoni
seconded with the suggestion that Mr. Cameron consult with the Conservation
Commission and the Shellfish Constable to formulate acceptable plans.
All agreed.
Greenwood Homeowners Association - Request a Special Permit under
Section 10.5.8 of the Zoning Sign Requirements for permission to exceed
the regulations of one sign per entranceway to a subdivision in an R-3
zoning district on property located at the intersection of Great Neck
Road South and Great Pines Drive (Map 89) Mashpee, MA.
Members sitting: Michael Makunas, Richard Halpern and Edward Govoni.
Thomas Davies, President, and Roxanne Iwaszko, Treasurer, of the
Greenwood Homeowners.' Association, represented the petition. They
explained that the subdivision originally was identified by one sign
on the center island at the entrance. The former sign was hazardous to
traffic and was not visible to those.approaching the entrance. It had
been damaged by automobiles on three occasions.
The proposed two signs would be placed on the shoulder at each side
of the entrance and would improve visability. Mr. Makunas requested that
the petitioners provide a professional plan indicating the exact location
of the new signs.
• Mr. Halpern moved to grant the Special Permit to allow two signs at
the entrance. Mr. Govoni seconded with the condition that a location
plan be submitted to the Board. All agreed.
Charles D. Spohr - (Owner of Record: Edward S. Anderson and Kenneth
L. Meserve) - Requests a Special Permit under Section 6.3.1.9 of the Zoning
By-laws for permission to build a dock and boardwalk in an R-3 zoning
district on property located at 8 Seconsett Road and 22 Seconsett Road
(Map 119, Blocks 14 and 15) Mashpee, MA.
Members sitting: Cheryl Hawver, Michael Makunas and Edward Govoni.
Mr. Spohr represented the petition. He reviewed plans for a dock and
boardwalk and stated that the plans also include a boathouse and two
parking spaces. There was discussion that the Special Permit request
for the boathouse should have been included in this petition rather than
a second Special Permit request tentatively scheduled for hearing on May 10.
Mr. Spohr said that the pier is designed for two boats.
Mrs. Hawver asked for comments from abutters. Donald W. Bourne,
representing the Citizens for the Protection of Waquoit Bay, asked if the
pier was for private use. Mr. Makunas replied that it was.
•
