i. <br /> to the effective date of any such additional rules <br /> and regulations, the fire chief shall submit same <br /> to the Board of Selectmen for approval; and the <br /> same shall become effective upon said approval. <br /> i <br /> Section 4.6.6 Alarm System <br /> Any new structure containing more than one I <br /> dwelling unit to be built in the Town of Mashpee, <br /> including but not limited to structures known <br /> as condominiums, shall have installed an alarm <br /> system so prescribed by the Fire Chief as follows : <br /> Smoke detectors shall be installed on each level <br /> including the basement of each unit within the <br /> structure as prescribed by the Massachusetts State <br /> Building Code. These smoke detectors shall be local <br /> to the unit and wired on 'an essential circuit within <br /> the unit, such as the kitchen circuit. <br /> There shall be a rate of rise/fixed temperature heat ! <br /> detector installed on each level including the base- <br /> ment of each unit within the structure and a <br /> prescribed number of heat detectors in each attic <br /> space over each unit depending on the size of the <br /> attic. There shall be a fixed temperature heat t <br /> detector in the room or space which houses the <br /> heating plant for each unit or structure. <br /> These heat detectors shall be part of a complete, <br /> closed alarm system, local to the entire building <br /> or structure, therefore sounding around and throughout <br /> the entire building or structure. This system will <br /> be a low voltage system with a sixty-hour backup. <br /> The AC power connection shall connect ahead of the <br /> main switch with a locking device and key. The <br /> wiring for energy fire alarm wire rated at 106 <br /> centigrade. <br /> If the layout of a particular structure calls for <br /> common hallways thereshall be smokedetectors ineach <br /> hallway which are wired to the low voltage alarm <br /> system, the number and location to be determined <br /> by the Fire Chief.These hallway smoke detectors <br /> shall be equipped with at least a nine (9) second <br /> delay capacitor and screen. Also, if common hallways <br /> exist there shall be a pull station at either end )VIII <br /> of the hallway located as recommended by the <br /> Massachusetts State Building Code and a zone panel box <br /> in each common hallway.
