October 7, 1996 <br /> Approved December 9, 1996 i <br /> l <br /> Article 43. <br /> i <br /> I <br /> To see if the Town will vote to delete Article XIV (Coastal Resources Management Committee) <br /> of Chapter 5 of the Code of the Town of Mashpee in its entirety and substitute the following: <br /> "ARTICLE XIV j <br /> Natural Resources Management Committee <br /> §5-55.Appointment; membership; term. <br /> j <br /> The Natural Resources Management Committee shall be composed of representatives of <br /> Town agencies involved in the management of coastal and other natural resources and of <br /> members from the community at large: <br /> A. <br /> a. Board of Health or Health Agent, if designated by the Board of Health, <br /> b. Conservation Commission or Conservation Agent, if designated by the <br /> Conservation Commission, <br /> C. Planning Board or Town Planner, if designated by the Planning <br /> Board, <br /> d. Harbormaster. <br /> e. Shellfish Commission or Shellfish Constable, if designated by the <br /> Shellfish Commission, <br /> £ Waterways Commission <br /> g. Public Works Director. i <br /> 1 <br /> Each agency, except for Harbormaster and Public Works Director, shall annually I <br /> appoint one regular member and one alternate to serve on this committee. The <br /> alternate shall not vote except in the absence of the regular member. <br /> B. The Board of Selectmen shall annually appoint two (2) additional members to <br /> represent user groups and other community interests involved in coastal and <br /> other natural resource issues. I <br /> j <br /> §5-56. Organization; meetings. �I <br /> r <br /> A. The Committee shall annually organize at its first meeting of each fiscal year by <br /> selection of a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Clerk. <br /> B. Five (5) members present shall constitute a quorum, and a quorum is required <br /> when a formal vote is taken. Any efforts by working groups or sub-committees <br /> shall be reported to and coordinated with the full membership. <br /> § 5-57. Powers and Duties ` <br /> A. The Natural Resources Management Committee shall advise and assist the Board <br /> of Selectmen. The Committee is intended to coordinate the activities of the <br /> individual town agencies represented regarding natural resource management <br /> issues by serving as a forum for discussion of issues and policies and for <br /> resolving conflicting interests. <br /> � R <br />
