family dwelling buildings or structures <br /> within the Town of Mashpee shall have <br /> installed alarm system so prescribed by <br /> the Fire Chief as follows: <br /> Smoke detectors shall be installed on <br /> each level including the basement of <br /> each unit within the structure . These <br /> smoke detectors shall be local to the <br /> unit and wired on an essential circuit <br /> within the unit , such as the kitchen <br /> circuit or any other essential circuit . <br /> There shall be a rate of rise/fixed <br /> temperature heat detector installed on <br /> each level including the basement of <br /> each unit within the structure and a <br /> prescribed number of heat detectors in <br /> each attic space over each unit <br /> depending on the size of the attic . <br /> -There shall be fixed temperature heat <br /> detector in the room or space which <br /> houses the heating plant for each unit ! <br /> or structure . <br /> These heat detectors shall be part of a <br /> complete , closed alarm system, local to <br /> the entire building or structure , <br /> therefore sounding around and <br /> throughout the entire building or <br /> structure . This system will be a low <br /> voltage system with a sixty-hour <br /> i' <br /> battery backup . The AC power <br /> connection shall connect ahead of the E <br /> main with a separate disconnect or shut <br /> off switch with a locking device and <br /> key. The wiring for this system shall <br /> be low energy fire alarm wire rated <br /> at 106 centigrade . <br /> If the layout of a particular structure <br /> offers common hallways there shall be <br /> smoke detectors in each hallway which <br /> are wired to the low voltage alarm <br /> system, the number and location to be <br /> determined by the Fire Chief . Each of <br /> these hallway smoke detectors shall <br /> be equipped with at least nine (9) <br /> second delay capacitor and screen . <br /> Also, if common hallways exist and if <br /> the Fire Chief deems them necessary, <br /> pull stations shall be installed at <br /> either end of these common hallways <br /> located as recommended by the <br /> -69- <br />
