Prior to the effective date of any <br /> j such additional rules and regulations, the <br /> fire chief shall submit same to the Board <br /> of Selectmen for approval ; and the same <br /> become effective upon said approval . <br /> i <br /> Section 4.6. 6 Alarm System <br /> Any new structure containing more than one <br /> ! dwelling unit to be built in the Town of <br /> j ' Mashpee , including but not limited to <br /> I ' structures known as condominiums , shall <br /> i. have installed an alarm system so <br /> prescribed by the Fire Chief as follows: <br /> Smoke detectors shall be installed on each <br /> level including the basement of each unit <br /> within the structure as prescribed by the <br /> Massachusetts State Building Code . These <br /> smoke detectors shall be local to the unit <br /> ! ' and wired on an essential circuit within <br /> the unit , such as the kitchen circuit . <br /> There shall be a rate of rise./fixed <br /> temperature heat detector installed on <br /> each level inlcuding the basement of each <br /> II unit within the structure and a prescribed <br /> Ii number of heat detectors in each attic <br /> space over each unit depending on the size <br /> of the attic . There shall be a fixed <br /> temperature heat detector in the room or <br /> � space which houses the heating plant for <br /> each unit or structure . <br /> These heat detectors shall be part of a <br /> complete , closed alarm system, local to the <br /> entire building or structure , therefore <br /> sounding around and throughout the entire <br /> building or structure . This system will be <br /> I , a low voltage system with a sixty-hour <br /> backup . The AC power connection shall , <br /> connect ahead of the main switch with a <br /> I locking device and key. The wiring for <br /> energy fire alarm wire rated at 106 <br /> centigrade . <br /> i <br /> If the layout of a particular structure <br /> calls for common hallways thereshall be <br /> smokedetectors ineach hallway which are <br /> wired to the low voltage alarm system, the <br /> number and location to be determined by <br /> the Fire Chief . These hallway smoke <br /> detectors shall be equipped with at least <br /> i <br /> -42- <br />
