i Article 2.6 Finance Committee Section 2.6. 1 Membership . The Finance Committee shall consist of seven voters of the Town , none of whom shall hold any other elective or appointed town office except as f otherwise authorized in these By—Laws. The term of service of the members of the ' Committee shall be three years. (Amended at Annual Town Meeting May 3, 1982, and approved by Attorney General September 7, 1982) . Section 2.6.2 Duties. The Finance Committee shall choose one of their number as Chairman and likewise choose a clerk . Said Committee may consider such questions with reference to the conduct of the Town affairs as they may deem advisable , and may consult with any and all officers, boards and committees of the Tot,m with reference to matters under their supervision ; they shall consider the + ! various articles in the warrant for any I! annual or special meeting called during f their tenure of office , and shall make a report of their doings and + ' recommendations to the Tot-,in . i Section 2.6.3 Hearings, The Finance Committee may hold hearings if , their ,judgment , it be � expedient ; but shall expend no money unless authorized by the vote of the Town . � i : s Section 2.6.4 Authorization . The Finance Committee shall have authority at any time to examine c and investigate the books, accounts and I management of any department of the Town and of all officers thereof , and all official or departmental records shall be open to the inspection of the Committee or of any person authorized in writing to ' act for the Committee . i Section 2.6.5 Reimbursement . The members of the Finance, Committee shall serve without pay for their services, but they may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the discharge j ry of their duties hereunder , with the ! approval of the Board of Selectmen . Section 2.6.6 Vacancies.. Vacancies occurring in the Finance Committee shall be filled as i -15-
