EXI11111J' A <br />APARTMENT PROJECT SURVEY <br />A survey was made of five major muai::i.-family <br />housing projects in the Mid -Cape area for the purpose <br />of acquiring greater insight into the condominium market <br />and the characteristics of the person residing in these <br />projects. The projects surveyed 'included (1) condominium <br />garden apartments in Dennis, (2) rental duplex townhouses <br />in Yarmouth, (3) two rental garden apartment houses in - <br />Hyannis, and (4) condominium townhouses in.lfyannis. The <br />projects include a total of 202 occupied units, with <br />7 efficiencies, 55 1-bedroom uni.ts and 150 2-bedroom units. <br />Sixty-five percent of the units were occupied by <br />married couples while thirty-five percent were occupied <br />by singles including divorcees and widows. <br />A surprisingly low thirty-five percent of the units <br />were occupied by retired heads of.households while <br />sixty-five.percent we're occupied by employed household heads. <br />Twenty-five percent of the units were occupied by <br />persons between the ages of 20-30; forty percent between <br />the ages of 30-50; and thirty-five percent over the age <br />of 50. <br />i •' <br />d. . <br />
