MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 8, 1995 MEETING CONMENCED AT 7:00PM Finance Committee members present: Marcia King, Chairman; Sid Golub, Vice Chairman; Dan Goggin; Alec Watt and Juan Bacigalupi . Denise Sullivan and Tony Gallo were unable to attend. Please note for the record that the taping of this meeting is for the transcription of the Minutes only. Once the Minutes are approved, the tapes will be reused. Minutes Juan Bacigalupi MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of June 13 , 1995 as written. Mr. Golub seconded the Motion and members approved 4-0. Mr. Bacigalupi MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of June 27, 1995 as written. Mr. Golub seconded the Motion and members approved the minutes 5-0 . Mr. Bacigalupi MOTIONED to approve the Executive Session Minutes for June 27th. Mr. Golub seconded the Motion and members approved 5-0. Reserve Fund Transfer Request There was a request from the Reserve Fund from Jane LaBute, Town Clerk. She requests that $2,876 be transferred in order to cover start up costs for Massachusetts Voter Registration. Ms. LaBute provided a list of supplies needed for the Elections and Registration Office, as well as their costs. Mr. Goggin suggested writing a letter to Ms. Labute and requesting that she first use the money in her budget and then come back to the Finance Committee when she runs out. Mr. Goggin also mentioned that the Elections Salary and Wage account may be over funded and that possibly these expenses could be paid from this account. Town Meeting would need to approve this transfer. Mr. Golub requested that Ms. Labute explain why these costs were unforeseen. Dan Goggin MOTIONED to oppose this transfer request and ask that the Town Clerk first use her money in her current budget and then come back to the Finance Committee at a later time. Mr. Golub also added that he would like to know how the prices were arrived at and whether a State Purchasing List was used. Juan Bacigalupi seconded the Motion and members approved 5-0. Stipulation of Dismissal Ms. King gave two copies of the Stipulation of Dismissal which she received from Town Counsel . She indicated that Town Counsel did not state which Stipulation the Finance Committee should accept, only that it is a 50/50% chance of recovering legal fees. The first Stipulation indicates that the Plaintiff will pay legal fees.
