Page 2 <br /> He mentioned that school busses and other Town vehicles travel this <br /> road. Mr. Bacigalupi agreed and stated that the Police Chief also <br /> agreed. <br /> Joint Meeting - School Committee <br /> Ms. King informed the Committee that the School Committee had asked <br /> to meet with them on November 21st. Ms. King said she declined <br /> because Mr. Golub would not be able to attend that meeting and she <br /> felt he should be there. She will contact Janice Mills about <br /> another meeting date. Ms. King mentioned that the estimated <br /> utility costs for the high school are incorrect and coming in very <br /> high. She said that presently Dr. DeMoura is estimating between <br /> $175,000 and $200,000 for both heating and cooling. Ms. King <br /> suggested inviting the High School Building Committee to attend a <br /> meeting. <br /> Other Business <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi indicated that the Fire Department has sent the RFP <br /> for the feasibility study. It is due back at the end of the month <br /> or middle of December. <br /> Mr. Golub mentioned that he and Mr. Bacigalupi attended the <br /> Statewide Finance Committee meeting and presented other towns' <br /> reports. There were also a few capital improvement reports that <br /> were well done. Mr. Golub informed the Committee that certain <br /> towns have a standing agreement between the Selectmen and the <br /> Capital Committee that 5% to 7% of revenues, including revenues <br /> from the State, will be used for capital items. Currently, Mashpee <br /> is at 2 1/2%. Mr. Golub will review to see if more is needed in <br /> capital and less in operational. Mr. Golub did mention that he <br /> felt Mashpee was in great shape with Stabilization saving. Ms. <br /> King noted that many of these other towns are not faced with an <br /> opening of a new high school. Mr. Bacigalupi mentioned that some <br /> towns have a Capital Building Account. also. Ms. King felt that <br /> taxpayers would be devastated if asked to put even more money away. <br /> Ms. King indicated that the Council on Aging has been turned down <br /> again in their grant request for a van for the Senior Center. <br /> Ms. King suggested that the Finance Committee again request $4,000 <br /> or $5,000 so that a financial report can be sent to each household. <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi and Mr. Golub both agreed to draft certain starting <br /> goals and objectives for the Finance Committee to review. Mr. <br /> Bacigalupi said that he would furnish the Committee with a copy of <br /> what he drafted last year. <br /> Mr. Watt issued copies of the current Police and Fire contracts. <br /> He explained that he has not reviewed them in detail, but felt it <br /> was a good idea.
