10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 18, 2000 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Special Events Budget: <br /> Correspondence was received from Robert Sullivan, Special Events <br /> Coordinator dated November 16, 2000 requesting the sum of$2,500 to <br /> finance the Flag Day parade, Memorial Day, Veterans Day and <br /> forthcoming events. <br /> Fred D'Amico, Mashpee Art-I-Gras, requested the Board consider a <br /> waiver of Town fees for fund raising functions of non-profit organizations. <br /> The Board agreed to defer approval of the Special Events budget at this <br /> time. Overall events within the Town will be considered with the <br /> potential development of a Special Events Committee. The Board in mid- <br /> January will consider a line item budget for funding and tracking <br /> purposes. <br /> Acceptance of Town Cemetery Bid: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to place the above topic on the <br /> Selectmen's agenda. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> The BSC Group submitted their review of public bids received on <br /> December 1, 200 for the construction of Phase I of the Town of Mashpee <br /> Cemetery. A total of twelve bids were received. <br /> Littleton Environmental Services, Inc. of Littleton, MA submitted the low <br /> bid of$281,500. Addenda numbers one and two,the niche and bench <br /> additive alternate were considered for the sum of$25,000 to bring forth a <br /> total bid of$306,500. <br /> Cemetery Study Committee Chairman, Fred Blythe recommended <br /> approval of the base bid to include alternate number one. Discussion <br /> followed. <br />
