5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 17, 2001 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Use of Barnstable County Funds: <br /> The Board of Selectmen received five requests for use of Barnstable <br /> County surplus funds. Based upon the tax allocation between the fifteen <br /> Cape towns, the Town of Mashpee will received $30,140.40. <br /> Guidelines for use of County funds were set forth in a memorandum to the <br /> Selectmen dated October 19, 2001 from Joyce Mason, Acting Town <br /> Administrator. Mark Zielinski, Interim County Administrator was present <br /> for discussion purposes. <br /> The following departments remitted their request for consideration; <br /> Waterways— Maintenance Dredging <br /> Board of Health— Repair of Failed Septic Systems <br /> Mashpee Women's Club—Restoration of School House <br /> Sewer Commission— Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan <br /> Finance Committee— Infrastructure of Town <br /> Presently, there are no funds available to repair failed septic systems with <br /> the Barnstable County Septic Loan Program. For the Selectmen's review <br /> was a list of eight properties awaiting available funding. Repairs have <br /> averages $5,000 per household repair. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to earmark the use of County <br /> Surplus Funding in the amount of$30,140.40 to the Board of Health <br /> to repair and upgrade failed septic systems as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
