190 <br />c <br />Annual Town Meeting Warrant, March 1,.1971 (cont'd) Cv <br />Article 7. To see if the Town will assume liability in the manner <br />provided by Section 29 of Chapter 9 of the General Laws, as recently <br />amended by Chapter 5, Acts of 1955 for all damages that may be incurred <br />by work to be performed by the Department of Public Works of Massachusetts <br />for the improvement, development, maintenance and protection of tidal. and <br />non -tidal rivers and streams and harbors, tidewaters, foreshores and shores <br />along a public beach in accordance with Section,XI of Chapter 91 of the <br />General Laws, and authorize the Selectmen to execute and deliver a bond of <br />idemni.ty therefor to the Commonwealth. ' <br />Action: Motion made and seconded that article be accepted as read. <br />96 for, none opposed. The vote carried. <br />Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to add $30,000 to the Stabi- <br />lization Fund; 815,000 to be taken from free cash in the General Treasury and <br />$15,000 to be raised and appropriated, or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded that article be accepted as read <br />and as recommended by the Finance Committee. A vote. <br />Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $5,000 <br />from the Overlay Account to the.Reserve Fund, or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article be amended to read: To see <br />if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $5,000 from the <br />Reserve Overlay Surplus Account to the Reserve Fund, or take <br />any other action thereon. Motion made and seconded article <br />be accepted as amended. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum <br />of 81,500 to be used in conjunction with Highway Maintenance under Chapter 90, <br />representing the Town's share, and to transfer from available funds in the Treasury, <br />the sum of $3,000 representing the State and County share. This amount, when <br />reimbursed, to be returned to surplus revenue, or take any other action thereon. ' <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article be accepted as read and as <br />recommended by the Finance Committee. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />the sum of $5,200 to be expended in conjunction with highway construction <br />under Chapter 90, representing the Town's share and to transfer from avail- <br />able funds in the Treasury, the sum of $15,600 representing the State and <br />County share, these monies to be used on Great Neck and Great Oak Roads. <br />This amount when reimbursed, to be returned to surplus revenue, or take <br />any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article be accepted as read and as <br />recommended by the Finance Committee. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the <br />sum of $3,000 to meet the Town's share of the dost of Chapter 81, and <br />to transfer from available funds in the Treasury, the sum of 811,000 to <br />meet the State's share of.the cost of the work. This amount when reimbursed, <br />to be returned to surplus revenue, or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to accent article as read and a.s <br />recommended by the Finance Committee. A unanimous vote.° <br />Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate I or take from available funds the sum of $3,000 for keeping the revalu- <br />ation program up-to-date or take any other action therein. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article be indefinitely postponed. <br />Motion carried. <br />Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or take from available funds the sum of $1,900 for the up -dating and <br />plotting of the Assessors' maps or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum <br />of $1,900 as recommended by the Finance Committee. A <br />unanimous vote. <br />
