Town Meeting May 3, 1977 395 <br />ARTICU 24, To see if the Town of Mashpee will vote to raise and ap- <br />propriate the sum of 961,000.00 to be expended toward the operating <br />expenses of Cape Cod Family and Children's Service, Inc., under the <br />direction of the Selectmen. (Submitted by the Cape Cod Family and Children'; <br />Services) <br />Not recommended y the Finance Committee as it is already included in <br />the Selectmen's Budget. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded that Article 24 be indefinitely post- <br />poned. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 25. To see if the Tom of Mashpee will vote to raise and apt, <br />' propriate or take from availabe funds the sum of 9$1,000.00 as provided <br />in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40, Section 5, Clause 39 to <br />help defray expenses in providing facilities for training, rehabilitation <br />and employment of mentally retarted and handicapped residents of the <br />Town of Mashpee employed at Nauset Workshop, Inc. (Submitted by the <br />Nauset Workshop, Inc.) <br />Recommended by the Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum of <br />$1,000.00. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br />take from available funds the sum of $975.00 to meet Mashpee's share <br />of services derived from the Cape Cod Council on Alcoholid, Inc. <br />(Submitted by the Cape Cod Council on Alcholism, Inc.) <br />Recommended by the Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum of <br />96975.00. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 27. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or take from available funds the sum of %2,500.90 to establish an <br />Airport Commission Expense Account; said sum to be used for administra- <br />tive expenses and to develop a manual for operation of fiscal procedures <br />for joint civic use of Otis Air Force Base. (Submitted by the Airport <br />' Commission) <br />Recommended by the Finance Committee with an amount of 9$250.00 <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to raise and appropriate 96250.00. <br />Motion is carried. <br />ACTIOLE 28. To see if the Town will voteeto raise and appropriate or <br />take from available funds the sum of $3,000.00 to continue the Pollution <br />Abatement Program (the sources of septic tank and cesspool sanitary <br />wastes into the Great Ponds and Inland Waterways of Mashpee). (Sub- <br />mitted by the Board of Health) <br />Recommended by the Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum of <br />963,000.00. Motion carried. <br />ARTICLE 29. To see if the Town will vot e to employ one (1) part-time <br />person for the Recreation Department; and, to see if the Town will <br />vote to raise and appropaite or take from available funds the sum of <br />9$ for wages forthe Assistant to the Recreation Department. <br />("ubmitted by the Recreation Department) <br />Not recommended by the Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to inderinitely postpone. <br />Vote carried. <br />' ARTICLE 30. To see ifthe Town will vote to,name the new middle <br />school, now under construction, the"Kenneth C. Coombs Middle School" <br />in honor of his years of service to the Mashpee School Department. <br />(Submitted by the Mashpee Citizens) <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to indefinitely postpone. Vote carried. <br />ARTICLE 31. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to <br />convey the Wampanoag Indian Museum, outer -buildings and land to the <br />Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council with the understanding that the Town <br />would terminate any further financial support for said museum. <br />(Submitted by Tribal Council members and taxpayers in the Town of Mashpee) <br />Not recommended by the Finance Committee. <br />ACTION: Moved and seconded to indefinitely postpone. Vote carried. <br />
