5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 27, 2017 <br /> Acceptance of Resignation from the Mashpee Cable &Advanced Technology Advisory Board <br /> (MCAT), Wendy Williams: <br /> Andrew Eliason, Chair of the MCAT Board remitted communication to the Board relative to the <br /> resignation of Wendy Williams effective October 24, 2017. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to accept the resignation of Wendy Williams from the <br /> MCAT Board with regret sending a letter of appreciation of Ms. Williams for her service to the <br /> Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval to Deficit Spend the Snow and Ice Account,_DPW Director Catherine Laurent: <br /> Correspondence was received from Catherine Laurent; Director of Public Works dated November 9, <br /> 2017 requesting the Board approve deficit spending for Snow& Ice for FYI 8. Without approval, the <br /> DPW will not be able to respond to winter storms. <br /> The annual Snow&Ice budget is $116,570. The salt delivery is expected the week of November 13, <br /> 2017 to restock supplies for the upcoming winter season. It is expected the Morton Salt purchase order <br /> will encumber approximately 80% of this budget. The balance of the budget has been encumbered to <br /> conduct repairs to DPW snow equipment. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to deficit spend the FY18 Snow & Ice Account as <br /> recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br /> Update on John's Pond Town Manager Rodney Collins: <br /> On the matter of the one-day passes discontinued on August 1, 2017 as a result of beach abuse and <br /> complaints, Town Manager Rodney C. Collins indicated it is the intention of the Town to continue <br /> this process through the 2018 season. The policy and regulations developed are permissible and the <br /> Town is within its rights to consider restrictions. Weekly passes will be available. <br />
