Mike Mendoza advised they show on the Plan a profile showing the units, as well
as the screening, because the Boards will be looking for this information. Joe
Laham showed the "prep" bays. He said they need a separate section for
aluminum frame vehicles.
Mike Mendoza noted that (1) proposed signage; and (2) lighting are not shown
on the Plan. He said these be shown—for example, pole sign; sign on building;
lighting. Applicant said signage/lighting will be added. Jonathan added that
lighting should be focused down. Joe Laham said they only use LED lighting.
Jonathan Furbush commented just for information purpose that a competitor tried
to build a collision center just around the corner from this site and the neighbors
strongly objected to noise and air pollution so think about potential noise.
Attorney Mike Ford said his client looked at that site initially and then started
looking elsewhere because of the closeness of that site to the residential zone.
Joe Laham commented that he runs a highly specialized business and is not
interested in disturbing the community. He said he chose this property since
there are no residential neighbors.
Jonathan Furbush asked why flat roof building? .toe Laham said because of the
construction of the building. 'He said this will present long-term investment.
Jonathan questioned the landscaping---particularly between the 2 lot lines. Matt
Eddy referred to the Plan and showed they augmented the buffer with white
pines shown and that vegetation to be maintained. Matt said landscape
plantings around and in front of building are identified on Plan landscape table.
Snow placement to be around the property and in stormwater management area.
Jonathan Furbush noted difficult access to dumpster. Applicant agreed and said
they will move down for straight access in and out.
Mike Mendoza asked if gas is at the site. Matt Eddy showed the Utility Plan with
gas meter shown. He said Plan shows proposed fire hydrant, which is an
additional one.
Conclusion; Motion: Jonathan Furbush motioned to approve as presented;
Joseph Cummings seconded the motion; and it was unanimously passed by
Design Review.
2
