HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE—PUBLIC SESSION <br /> May 19,2016—2:00 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL--OCKWAY MEETING ROOM <br /> Committee Members Present: Also Present: <br /> John Calahane Gail Wilson,Human Services Director <br /> Lynne Waterman <br /> Veronica Warden <br /> Mary Bradbury <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman John Calahane called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m. , <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS—None <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Review of minutes from February 18,2016 <br /> Motion: Lynne Waterman moved to accept the minutes of February 18,2016 <br /> as presented, seconded by Mary Bradbury. Vote unanimous 4-0 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Coordinator's Report <br /> The Director reviewed her Coordinator's Report from the month of April highlighting a <br /> meeting she had with the VNA. At the meeting,they discussed the unmet needs in the <br /> community and the need to have a chronic pain support group at the Senior Center. The <br /> Director said thru the Human Services contract,VNA inquired about some of the needs <br /> we have and that they are open to responding. It was noted there is also a town nurse <br /> who is very receptive and there was a brief discussion on the duties of the town nurse vs <br /> the VNA. <br /> The Director reported she is a member of the Prevention Intervention Working Group of <br /> the Barnstable County Regional Substance Abuse Coalition, a focus of the group is a <br /> media campaign that will target all ages. Another possible goal is a Substance Use <br /> Summit around educating parents possibly in the fall. <br />
