The VNA representatives <br /> stated they are open to suggestions and would look into this and get back to the Director. <br /> There was a brief discussion regarding their budget and the stipend that the town gives <br /> the VNA for their services. The Director thanked them for their services and for working <br /> very closely with her and thanked them for coming in. <br /> The Director noted the budgets are due on September 30 and the budget meeting is on <br /> Thursday,November 17 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> The Director stated all subcontractors are submitting their data and she will have it <br /> available at the next meeting. The members are in agreement they will request a 10% <br /> increase for the contracts. <br /> The Director noted the need for handicap ramps. She said recently she had a request <br /> from Hope Hospice for a patient who wanted to be able to go out and sit on his deck. <br /> Because of the urgency, Selectman Tom O'Hara constructed the ramp for the patient. <br /> There was a discussion on providing mobile ramps for certain situations. There was also <br /> a discussion on requesting emergency funds and developing guidelines for expenditure of <br /> these funds. There also was a discussion on the work St. Vincent DePaul does for the <br /> community. <br /> The Director stated one of her goals is to do a monthly newsletter for Human Services. <br /> Coordinator Report <br /> The Director reviewed her Coordinator's Report for the month of September <br /> The Health and Human Services Committee will be developing a task force on aging. <br /> She noted fuel Assistance is starting November 1 for emergencies. <br /> The first meeting of the Mashpee Substance Task Force is Wednesday, September 21 at <br /> 10:00 a.m. Barnstable County will be speaking at the beginning of the meeting on how <br /> Mashpee is a collaborative partner in the Opioid Grant. The Director will then take over <br /> the meeting and identify our goals and start an action plan. The Director noted she met <br /> with the CEO of Gosnold Richard Curcuru along with the Town Manager Rodney <br /> Collins and Mr. Cucuru stated they are willing to help in any capacity we need.
